This is the first time I visited Kelantan, Kota Bahru. I have heard the name of Pasar Siti Khadijah from Nasi Lemak Lover.
The original name of Siti Khadijah Market was Buluh Kubu Grand Market. However, the name was changed by the Chief Minister of Kelantan, Y. A. B. Tuan Guru Dato Nik Abdul Aziz bin Nik Mat as a sign of respect for women, since the majority of traders are female. The name Siti Khadijah was in honour of name of Prophet Muhammad PBUH who is a successful businesswoman.
Four-storey high and octagonal shape are the symbols of this building. The basement specially caters fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood. Also, some ready-to-go food such as local hand made pastries, cakes, puffs, etc.
At first floor, you can find dry condiments such as herbs, spices, pickles, noodles, sauces.
Also, you can find hot food here.
Thanks for mentioned. I was kind of rush when visit this pasar, can't even buy many things..wish I can visit again.
